The Association of Municipal Administrators, Nova Scotia (AMANS) takes a collaborative approach to policy development by working closely with the Nova Scotia Federation of Municipalities (NSFM) and the Department of Municipal Affairs and Housing (DMAH). AMANS has been increasingly called upon by the Province of Nova Scotia and NSFM to provide support in policy development impacting local governments in Nova Scotia.
AMANS policy support is well positioned as an advisor and educator to our members and partners. It is non-political nor partisan and provides municipal administrators with an engaged and constructive voice at tables where new policy initiatives are being considered.
AMANS policy support aims to establish functional working relations with other government administrators while reinforcing the value of AMANS members as the "municipal experts". AMANS' approach to government relations is clear, straightforward, and simple. AMANS values building and fostering productive, collaborative government relations.
