AMANS Extends Request for Qualifications for Investigators for New Code of Conduct for Municipal Officials

Halifax, NS – The Association of Municipal Administrators, Nova Scotia (AMANS) has extended the deadline for its Request for Qualifications (RFQ) to January 17, 2025.

The RFQ is open to experts experienced in conducting investigations related to the new Code of Conduct, as required by the Government of Nova Scotia. This Code sets important standards for
elected officials and it is crucial for municipalities to have impartial investigators available.

Through this RFQ, AMANS aims to identify candidates qualified to serve as investigators as outlined in the Provincial Code of Conduct legislation. Municipalities will be able to choose investigators
from this list, ensuring that all selected individuals meet the required standards of impartiality and expertise.

To prevent conflicts of interest, the RFQ specifies that entities must select investigators without existing contractual relationships. If conflicts arise, entities may either choose another investigator
on the list or work with a different proponent to find a solution.

The deadline for submissions has been extended to Friday, January 17, 2025, at 2 pm AT. AMANS is committed to evaluating submissions thoroughly and will assess those received by this date
promptly. Additionally, AMANS staff will reach out to local municipal law firms to encourage participation.

For more information about the RFQ and submission, please visit External Competition (AMANS) - Request for Qualifications, Investigator.
