Jeff SunderlandHalifax, NS – The Board of Directors for the Association of Municipal Administrators, Nova Scotia (AMANS) is pleased to announce the appointment of Jeff Sunderland as Executive Director.

Following the recent resignation of David Campbell as Executive Director, the Board took immediate steps to fill this critical leadership role within the association.

“On behalf of the Board, I’m very excited to welcome Jeff as our Executive Director,” said Victoria Brooks, President of AMANS. “With his many years of experience in municipal government, including his previous roles as Chief Administrative Officer with the Municipality of Digby and board member of AMANS, Jeff understands the unique challenges and opportunities facing our sector – and has a track record of collaborating to deliver results. He understands AMANS is uniquely positioned to support capacity building, provide professional advice and bring municipal professionals together. ”

“I’m thrilled to join AMANS as Executive Director and support the continued excellence in local government administration with municipalities throughout the province,” said Mr. Sunderland.

Mrs. Brooks will oversee the day-to-day operations of AMANS until Mr. Sunderland begins his role as Executive Director on November 19, 2025.

“I’d also like to take this opportunity to thank David Campbell for his contributions as Executive Director over the past year,” said Mrs. Brooks. “We wish him the best as he takes on new opportunities.”
