“The goal of the workplace wellness award program is to recognize and celebrate workplaces in nova Scotia that exhibit a strong commitment to improving the health of their employees,” said Rebecca Kolstee, Municipal Wellness Coordinator with AMANS. “Workplaces that receive one of the three award levels - bronze, silver, or gold - demonstrate a comprehensive workplace health promotion approach to wellness programming. To have the greatest impact on the wellness of employees and the municipal unit, a variety of health promotion strategies should be considered and implemented in wellness planning and programming. Comprehensive workplace wellness programming should include awareness raising, skill-building, providing a supportive environment, and developing supportive policies.”
