The Association of Municipal Administrators, Nova Scotia, is seeking a new Executive Director to join our team.
The Executive Director will take the Board approved Strategic Plan and make it happen! Working with a staff of six professionals, the Executive Director will ensure municipal administration in Nova Scotia is modern and responsive to current issues. The Executive Director will make sure the programs and services offered to AMANS members are building municipal capacity through Nova Scotia and developing the municipal leaders of tomorrow. This role requires a strong leader who can build meaningful relationships with our partners and who will provide the training, mentoring, succession planning, and a positive team-based work culture for our team.
You come to the position with a university/college degree in a related area (e.g., administration, management) or an equivalent combination of education and experience that could be considered. In your application, you will demonstrate how you meet the following requirements: five or more years of experience working with volunteer not-for-profit organizations, ideally working in not-for-profit management or a municipal environment, working with Boards and Committees, previous experience managing a customer-service-focused team; your strong verbal and written communication skills; a valid driver’s license, a solid driving record and/or access to a reliable means of transportation as to meet travel requirements.
